What is Tutup Aurat?
Tutup aurat is a common practice among Muslim women and is an encouraged practice among Malaysians. Basically, the practice is to cover any flesh that can be seen in public. In Malaysia, there is no strict regulations for this although it is a necessity under religious teachings. Malaysian women are encouraged not to wear revealing clothes where the best solution is to wear the Baju Kurung and don a tudung or a veil that only shows the face. All other body parts should be covered that include the toes and fingers although it might not be practical under the humid and hot weather.
