What is special in Puchong
Puchong is one of the main towns in Selangor, Malaysia. Formerly an active tin mining and rubber estate town, Puchong was given a face-lift approximately 20 years ago with rapid development of industrial parks, commercial projects and most importantly, residential developments. So far, most of the developments are centered along the main road that is Jalan Puchong. From a two-lane road running through residential villages and estates to today’s modern town, the town is expected to witness more projects in the future.
Currently, Puchong is an important residential suburb between two cities namely Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. More developers emerged and planned construction projects in Puchong. Among some of the new townships are Bandar Puchong Jaya, Pusat Bandar Puchong, Puchong Hartamas, Puchong Utama, Puchong Prima, Bandar Bukit Puchong, Saujana Puchong and Bandar Puteri Puchong.
Formerly ex-plantation land and cleared-forest areas, Puchong has now emerged as a popular residential area among the population. The town has recorded over 300, 000 residents with Puchong Jaya as the largest township; approximately 40, 000 residents. Puchong’s local government includes Subang Jaya Municipal Council and Sepang Municipal Council.
