Company Registration

I own the company called ABC Enterprises which is a sole proprietorship company. I would like to know can someone else use the name ABC Sdn Bhd? Would that be complicated if I decide to convert my ABC Enterprises to ABC Sdn Bhd?

Yes, it is possible for someone else to use the name ABC Sdn Bhd unless you have trademarked your company. If not, anyone is free to register the name. It will be extremely complicated if you decide to convert in the future because the ‘other’ company would have used it for a while now. To be safe, you should register both ABC Enterprise and ABC Sdn Bhd so that you own the name.
