Is there such a thing as ‘halal’ cosmetics?
Yes. While there are no strict regulations on which cosmetics can or cannot be used, the more conservative Muslim women would prefer to use the ‘Halal’ certified cosmetics. Basically, most of the cosmetic brands are halal as they do not use ingredients that are not allowed in Islam which means that they are safe to use. However, some would take the ‘safer’ path where they will ensure that the manufacturers observe the religious methods and teachings in the production of these cosmetics like the Living Proof brand and others. Apart from that, there are also ‘Halal’ toiletries like toothpaste and soap too like Colgate and Mu’min.
